Origin Location |
Badakhshan, Afghanistan |
Description |
Two beautiful, gem-clear cluster specimens of deep blue celestine on orange calcite matrix from Afghanistan. This is an uncommon and highly prized mineral for this locality, and it shows far greater saturation than most example of celestine from other locales, which tend to appear in more of an ice blue hue. One could easily mistake these samples for a high quality aquamarine, but it can be distinguished by its distinct crystal habit. |
