Description |
This sample offers an attractive, metallic example of highly lustrous pyrolusite, primarily appearing on one side of the matrix. This manganese dioxide mineral has a history of human use dating back to neolithic usage in pigments, through to modern usage in production of alloys, batteries, disinfectants and coloring agents. This sample demonstrates the natural acicular radiating growth habit of this important ore source of manganese. |
