Description |
This small single crystal of Ettringite shows excellent yellow color, which hints at its sulfur content. This mineral is a hydrous calcium aluminum sulfate. Interestingly, this mineral also forms naturally in Portland cement as a result of a chemical bonding process. Normally the mineral is colorless or white but well formed natural yellow prismatic crystals such as this one are prized by collectors. |
