Description |
This is a nice, relatively spherical and somewhat "UFO" shaped “Moqui Marble”, a naturally formed Iron Oxide and Sandstone concretion from Utah. These fascinating objects form underground from minerals precipitated from flowing groundwater. They can range in size from pea sized to the size of a fist, and are named for the Hopi tribe of Native Americans, also known as the Moqui. Similar concretions have been found on Mars! |
